Jesus hits a grand-slam with over 55,000 baseball fans. Bases were
loaded in front of Busch Stadium with a small remnant as they
brought the truth and delivered God’s mail to the streets of
St. Louis
,
Missouri
.
55,000 people descended on this historic ballpark for the
very last game ever to be played there as a new stadium is being
erected. Despite the order to evacuate, and twice being threatened
with arrest by Sergeant Dan, many Bibles and flyers with Isaiah
1:15,17 “When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my
eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen.
Your hands are full of blood…Seek justice, encourage the
oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the
widow.” and “Can
You Hear the Babies’ Cry” were passed out, and Jesus’ name
lifted up. We were told that our signs were “offensive” but what
is really offensive is that society has allowed the legalized murder
of innocent lil’ boys and girls for over 32 years. God bless
Lieutenant Anthony Russo for coming to our rescue as we were
threatened with arrest. “These people have a first amendment right
to be out here. Leave them alone.”
It’s amazing how the truth can create such a fury. Galatians
4:16 “Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?”
Local radio stations and passerbys were up in arms because of those
graphic signs. White males between the ages of 25-50 were the most
vocal opponents. City officials and local law enforcement just
wanted to put on a good baseball game. It’s all about money. We
prayed for favor and God blessed us as we were able to stand for the
oppressed and the fatherless for almost 3 hours Praise the Lord!
As former Cardinals announcer Jack Buck would say “Go
Crazy” people did just that as the truth stumbled into the streets
Isaiah 59:14 ‘Truth has stumbled in the
streets, honesty cannot enter.” One woman said, “Glad
you’re here” and a man told us, “God bless you.” Others
weren’t so kind. Many people cursed us and mocked us. A woman came
up to us in a rage and questioned, “How many babies have you
adopted?” “We have helped over 20 couples adopt babies that were
scheduled to die.” She replied, “Well, I hope you adopt a
thousand.” One professing Christian woman said that she was
“intensely” pro-life but that we “were going about this the
wrong way.” It’s okay not to be politically correct.
It’s a shame when you can have 55,000 attend a baseball
game and you can’t get 55 people to stand outside an abortion mill
where babies are scheduled to die that day, that kills over 10,000
babies a year. In 1966 when this stadium opened Daniel’s father
took him and his siblings to the only All-Star game that was ever
played in
St. Louis
. It was a very hot day that summer in July, but you know what? No
babies were dying, because abortion was not even heard of. How could
a nation that was once so great ever legalize killing it’s own
children?
We are blessed to have our quiver full of children and
brothers and sisters in Christ that have the courage to stand
outside Busch Stadium and the Hope abortion Clinic in
Granite City
,
IL
and be the Elijah’s and cry out for injustice to expose evil and
do good. To hold the standard higher. I believe that’s why God has
blessed us with almost 1,500 babies saved and many moms and dads
brought to Christ since January 2000.
So to those who do stand for the unborn, thank you and be
encouraged, and to those who don’t, remember “The gates of hell
cannot prevail against the
Church
of
Jesus Christ
.” There are over 2400 churches in the
St. Louis
area, and over 73 across the Mississippi River in
Granite City
,
IL
. But the Church must
show up! Abortion goes on because the
American
Church
allows it to go on. Silence kills!
The
St.
Louis Cardinals’ 2005 season- and Busch Stadium- is history. The
Redbirds lost 5-1 to
Houston
on Wednesday in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series,
closing the book on a 100-win season, the Cardinals’ bid for their
17th NL pennant, and the team’s 40-year-old ballpark.
Within weeks the wrecking ball will swing at the ballpark.
This stadium was made great because of the families, players, and
history behind it. The same can be said of our nation.
“The
family has always been the cornerstone of American society. Our
families nurture, preserve, and pass on to each succeeding
generation the values we share and cherish, values that are the
foundation for our freedoms. In the family we learn our first
lessons of God and man, love and discipline, rights and
responsibilities, human dignity and human frailty. We cannot
diminish the value of one category of human life- the unborn-
without diminishing the value of all human life…There is no cause
more important.” ~Ronald
Reagan
