The Sin of St. Louis , Missouri

Jeremiah 23:1-23 “Woe to the shepherds who are scattering and destroying the sheep. The prophets prophesied by Baal and led the people astray. No one turns from his wickedness, they are like Sodom & Gomorrah to me, they fill you with false hopes; they speak of visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord.”

Operation Save America director Reverend Flip Benham and the remnant delivered God’s mail at Windows on Washington, as Eden Theological Seminary held their $125.00 a plate fundraiser in the ambience of a renovated, historic building, to raise money to train pastors and pastorettes to promote abortion and homosexuality. On most Saturdays outside a notorious abortion mill in Granite City , Illinois you will find these lost seminarian students holding their purple signs “pro-faith, pro-family, pro-choice”, or “I’m pro-choice and I pray”. They are leading these young people straight to hell as they escort and counsel pregnant girls inside Hope Clinic.        

Friday night in downtown St. Louis , despite threats from police, we brought Jesus and the truth to the people that were attending this fundraiser. Many eyes were opened up to the fact that the Eden Theological Seminary is supportive and embraces abortion and homosexuality. On Eden ’s website there is a statement, “If God is still speaking what does that mean for the Bible? How does it have authority? How do we interpret it for our lives today?” What Bible are they reading from? The “Burger King Bible”, ‘Have it your way”.

When Flip mentioned the fact that homosexuality runs rampant through Eden , two female professors gave each other a passionate  kiss as they stood in line once inside the banquet hall. The Michael family, Julie Baer, Sister Grace, Linda Boon, and Ed passed out much literature and showed the truth of abortion to the large crowd going in. Besides the Eden banquet, there was a wedding and a Campus Crusade for Christ event all in the same building. It was a great witnessing opportunity to all three. The large sign with Galatians 4:16 “Have I now become your enemy because I tell you the truth?” was appropriate as the police wanted us to leave. They warned us not to offend anyone, “not to be mean to people”. Our red shirts read “Truth is hate to those who hate the truth”. Flip, Angela, and Sister Grace immediately started to open doors for guests and greet them as they arrived at the event. We handed them flyers “Do You Know?” exposing the fact that their money is going to promote abortion and homosexuality, and from a Biblical viewpoint that God says “abortion is okay.” One woman was asked by Julie, “What’s your take on thou shalt not kill?” She replied, “Where’s that in the Bible?” She then added, “A baby is not a baby till it’s born.” After all of the guests were inside and flyers handed out, we closed in prayer thanking King Jesus for favor, His Word going forth on the streets, and God’s mail being delivered by His remnant.                   

 Ezekiel 2:6-7 “And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house. You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.”    

On Saturday, Operation Save America director Rev. Flip Benham stood on the frontlines with God’s remnant and led the charge this day as mothers began pulling onto the lot waiting in their cars until the death merchants could unlock the death camp’s doors. Eight of the cars were from the previous day’s carnage. They could barely walk back inside to finish the grisly deed. Flip preached the Word of God with praise and worship music in the background. He confronted deathcamp guard and professing Christian Mike Held with his sin and the hypocrisy of Mr. Held’s love for Jesus by pulling his red pick-up truck loaded with fish pins and John 3:16 on his tailgate through this bloody deathcamp’s parking lot. “You defame Jesus, by serving this abortionist!” Others who give this guard their ears were warned to have nothing to do with him, “Have nothing to do with darkness rather expose it.”

A Missouri couple, Sara 12 weeks pregnant and Andy, came back out and we offered to show them a picture of their baby. They declined and said they were grateful we talked with them and they were saving their baby and took the resource information.

Another car with two women and a young girl pulled up. We were able to talk with them. Before they went in the mother said, “It’s out of my hands, I tried to talk with her.” A few minutes later, they walked out. We followed them and the mother was smiling, “She’s four months along”… the young girl was a lil upset and the mom took the literature and said, “God is convicting her, thank you for being here.”

A car from Missouri pulled in and parked on the back lot. Angela walked over to the car, the passenger had been crying. “Please think about it, don’t rush into a decision you may regret all your life”… Her friend, the driver, got out and said, “She’s upset.” “Then we will talk with you. Do you know Jesus?” She said, “Yes ma’am.” “Then you’re going to be His mouthpiece.” I asked, “Why does she feel she needs to go in there and kill her child?” “She was looking for an answer.” “Is it the responsibility? Money?” Her friend said, “No, she has a good job…she just doesn’t …” “…want to deal with it? Then we will take it. We’ll adopt the baby.” “Oh, I don’t know if she can do that…” “But, she can live with killing it? If she doesn’t deal with it now, it will deal with her later and follow her the rest of her life.” We prayed with her and walked a short distance away. Minutes later they walked up to the door, “Vonni, don’t do it!” They went in. A few minutes later, all three came back out and we ran to her friend. She turned to Angela and hugged her, “Thank you,” she said. “Praise God!” Angela tearfully whispered. As they were still hugging both of them said, “Thank you Jesus… thank you Jesus…” Others came around us and began praying and loving on this young woman whom God used to save this precious three month old baby’s life.

Later that evening at Heartland Baptist Church , we held a fundraising banquet for Small Victories. It was a great time of food, fellowship, and encouragement.

            Sunday morning Rev. Benham spoke at the historic Church of St. Louis, in the heart of downtown St. Louis . Flip gave a dynamic sermon on who is most responsible for abortion in America . Who is the most responsible for the 4500 babies murdered everyday across America ? The 150-200 a week in Granite City ? The American Church …not NARAL, not Planned Parenthood, not the politicians, but the Church! The Church is supposed to be the moral compass, but lately it’s nothing more than a social club. That’s why you’re seeing these mega churches going up. The Devil will let you grow a big church, but don’t you reach over here and touch this issue called abortion. The truth is under attack in America . Isaiah 59 “Truth has stumbled into the streets.”

            There’s safety in complacency, there’s no fire coming from the pulpits that our founding fathers once found aflame with righteousness. God is calling us out of our comfort zones and to pick up our cross, to live dangerously is not to live recklessly. Are we our brother’s keeper? Their blood is crying out! The apathy and complacency of the Church is strengthening the hands of the evildoers.      1 Peter 4:17 “Judgment will begin in the house of the Lord.”

The eyes of the Lord move to and fro looking for the hearts of men who are completely His, so that He can strongly support them and be faithful to His call, abandoned to grace and anchored in His love ...and willing to lose it all.
