Once known for their towering steel-mills, now known for their baby-killing mill

A special meeting was in order and the city leaders were rolling out the red carpet, or more appropriate would be the “bloody” red carpet, as they invited 63 developers to take part in a proposed development plan to enticed and grow their city. Gentle Christians showed up on the sidewalk in front of City Hall to let developers know what Granite City stands for and that their main industry that brings much revenue is an abortion mill that kills over 10,000 babies a year.

We pulled up just as the developers were parking their vehicles. We walked up to the front of City Hall and Councilman Tim Elliott was staring in total disbelief. He said, “You can’t be serious?” “Killing innocent children is very serious, sir.”  “You’re doing it the wrong way. Those signs don’t help.” “Then what does help?” Angela asked him. He replied, “Votes…voting” and he raised his fist. “We need those votes behind us.”

He said “We are behind you.” “If you’re behind us, why aren’t you standing with us?” He then reminded me, “I was the only one who voted for you.” This was in regard to the Granite City ordinance that bans our pro-life signs at Granite City parades, this past December. I said, “I appreciate your vote Tim, but we all know that game. You were the sacrificial lamb that evening, you drew the short straw. Someone had to do it. I praise God for your vote.”

I then said, “I realize this town is predominately Catholic, and for the most part Granite City embraces this abortion mill.” He said, “You’re wrong, they don’t like it either.” He then interjected that he wasn’t Catholic, he was born-again.

I then said, “Then you know everything I said in that press-release is true. Look around at these buildings, there is no growth in Granite City . How can God bless this city when it has murdered over 400,000 in their 32 years of abortion on demand? You’re city doesn’t allow prostitution, or meth labs. Why do you allow child-sacrifice? Tim, have you ever tried growing anything in blood? Try it, it won’t work. Granite City will never prosper as long as there is an abortion mill in their city.”

Tim then said, “Give what is Caesar’s to Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” I then pointed to Baby Malachi I was holding and asked him, “Whose baby is this?” He answered, “God’s.” “That’s right Tim, and we should be doing everything possible to save them. Their blood cries out for justice.”

He then straightened up and said in a commanding tone, “You know you have to keep moving with those signs.” I said, “That’s man’s law Tim,and we’ll keep moving but we need to be obeying God’s law,” and I walked away, and noticed the city leaders and developers were being rushed into the building through the back entrance.

So we took the proclaiming line on the back sidewalk where they yelled at us for carrying those ugly signs. Councilwoman Brenda Whittaker walked by us and told us we, “were stupid”.  We counted only five developers of the 63 invited showed up.

Back in Judah ’s day, the Israelites didn’t like being reminded of their sin either. They rebelled and became stiff-necked also. God destroyed them for shedding innocent blood and their detestable acts.

You can plant new trees and throw some fresh paint on rundown buildings, and try and patch those washboards streets, but how do you rid yourself of the bloodguilt your fine city stands for? Yes, it’s true Granite City receives much tax dollars from the Hope Clinic, but it’s also true that the innocent blood of those unborn babies is on their hands and coursing through their streets.

Murdering innocent babies is the most grievous sin to God, and it brings severe Biblical judgment. Innocent blood vengeance awaits not only Granite City , not only for murdering the unborn, but also for those protecting those who are committing the murders.

Ezekiel 22:3-4, 6-9 “Oh city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood, you have defiled yourselves, you have brought your days to a close. I will make you an object of scorn to the nations and a laughingstock to all the countries. Those who are near and those who are far will mock you, oh city full of turmoil.”
