Malachi
Meets the Mayor
God’s
mail is delivered at the annual Granite City Labor Day Parade
Innocent
blood has a voice…and that voice cries out for justice

Tension
and tempers had been rising since the Honorable Wm. Stiehl handed
down his judgment that this little remnant had a right to be at
the annual Granite City Labor Day Parade. Galatians
4:16 “Have I now become your enemy because I tell you the
truth?”
We
prayed the entire drive to this deplorable town, once known for
their towering steel mill, now families come from all fifty states
to the late-term baby-dumping mill. As we were unloading our
signs, and a local man came up to us and made the comment, “We
want to see that abortion mill gone from our city too. What can we
do?” He then said, “Can
we start a petition?” “Absolutely,”
we said. “It only takes
a spark to start a fire.” He thanked us and we proceeded on
to the corner of Niedringhaus and Madison Avenue.
The
Police Chief Rich Miller drove up to us and asked Angela if a
cordoned off area with police fencing met our approval. “Thank
you Chief.” He nodded and drove off. There were police all
around us and massive media. Once we were in our designated area,
the TV cameras and news media descended upon us for numerous
interviews. It was a bit overwhelming. The most asked question was
why we were here. But the Achilles heal was the intent of images
of dismembered babies upon the eyes of children. “Why
do they have to view such graphic images?” We answered, “They
don’t. This parade route is over ten blocks in length, we have
only a little corner. They can stand elsewhere or they can look
away, but those images don’t affect the children. It affects the
adults. When you confront people with their sin, they don’t like
it. Unfortunately, this is what
Granite City
stands for. If those images of dismembered little boys and girls
are so horrible, then why are we allowing it to happen in
Granite City
? As far as the teens and young adults, we educate our youth to
avoid drinking and driving by holding graphic car crash scenes
with bloodied teens’ portrayal of dead victims to raise the
awareness and sear their consciences with the truthful
consequences of drinking and driving. Why not the truth of
abortion?” Proverbs 14:25 “A truthful
witness saves lives…”
The
parade was peppered with the usual floats and parade goers. As the
Mayor and many public officials, judges, labor unions,
steelworkers, and entirely democratic candidates running for
office rolled down the parade route, Baby Malachi and gentle
Christians stood bearing a truthful witness that over 400,000
children have been murdered in
Granite City
,
Illinois
at the Hope abortion Clinic. Daniel, Angela, and the Michael
family led the charge to expose what the town of
Granite City
has become: an altar to Baal, a
Valley
of
Slaughter
, an Abomination to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Over 20 truth-bearers were surrounded with orange fencing
and beefed-up uniformed security but angry Granitonians still came
up to us and in full view of the TV cameras cursed us, and at one
point, even tried to cover-up the truth with a giant American
flag. We stood with the Cross of Jesus Christ, a large wooden
crucifix and held graphic signs along with Scripture signs asking,
“Why is the Church
silent?” and “Are
we going to be like the Christians who did nothing to help the
Jews and Slaves?” There were numerous middle fingers from
the floats and drivers, but there was something noticeably missing
from the parade. The sparsely populated entries throughout the
parade stood out. What was missing? The future politicians and the
future steelworkers. The future firemen and union leaders. The
future church groups. The future cheerleaders and band members. We
have aborted over 45 million of them, let alone the approximate
400,000 from
Granite City
’s 32 year history of child sacrifice. God can never bless a
nation or
Granite City
where innocent blood flows throughout their washboard streets. God
is calling us to expose the lies that are covering up the
slaughter of innocent human beings. When words fail, God speaks to
us in living parables or pictures. Jesus became a living parable.
He was beaten, nailed to a cross, and crucified. He paid for our
sins. It cost Him His life.
In
Jeremiah’s day, the people of
Israel
were sacrificing their innocent children in the
Valley
of
Ben Hinnom
. God was horrified at the depravity of His children. God said
that this was “…something
I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.” Jeremiah 7:31.
God’s people in Jeremiah’s time did not plead the case of the
fatherless to win it, just like we do today. We throw money at
crisis pregnancy centers and we vote for the Republican party. We
stand at the annual Life Chain. The priests and pastors pull out
their annual Roe v Wade sermon every January 22 but we are not
heeding the call and pleading the case of the over 45 million
innocent children who have been murdered and those scheduled to
die today so as to win it. We’re not here to play a good game of
pro-life. We’re here to win the war.
After the 45 minute parade, reporters converged on us once
again to get our thoughts and comments as they noticed parade
participants tried to cover the truth with various methods i.e
vehicles, umbrellas, even the American flag. We told them of our
surprise of the last minute support from local Granitonians,
including some in the parade that gave us thumbs up and told us, “God
bless you for being here,” and those that joined our ranks
and held signs. It was very encouraging. We gathered together and
ended in prayer and looked forward to our long drive home.
Our
children and our family have grown up in this ministry and on
these streets in this crime-infested desolate town. They know that
their Mom and Dad are doing everything they can to be a voice for
those without a voice. We will continue to plead the case of the
fatherless.
Innocent blood has a voice…and it cries out for justice.
Be encouraged~ Angela
