Tuesday- 34           AK, KY, MO, IL         2 saves            6 pro-lifers      Many young teens were hanging out at the Granite City pregnancy termination mill as their high school “winter-break” was in full session. Two mothers, one from Missouri and one from Illinois changed their minds on aborting their babies and left with their children still alive.

 

Wednesday- 39      AK, IN², KY, MO, IL      1 save       2 pro-lifers     Cold, blowing rain pelted the two lifesavers standing for the innocents as their young teenage mothers marched into this death mill. One older woman who brought her daughter, stopped and noticed the signs. After a short period, they came back out, she told the sidewalk counselor that once she was inside and looked around at all the girls, she felt convicted, she knew it was wrong and she brought her pregnant daughter to kill, after-all she was a spirit-filled Pentecostal. She took the resource information and said they were going home to speak with their pastor for guidance.

 

Thursday-34           midnight abortions     MN, MO, IL      7 pro-lifers           Cars drove by screaming and cursing those standing in the gap. "The natives are restless," I mused. A mom and daughter, former residents of this city of slaughter, stopped by to encourage the few standing for the babies. They were shocked at the site of dismembered children. "This place needs to be shut down!" they exclaimed and thanked us for caring and giving our time. A yellow cab from Missouri rolled up to the crime scene and  two women got out and both went inside to kill. They never came back out during our watch.

        A woman from Missouri staggered out to her car after her hour and a half abortion, we offered her resources and a Bible. She said, “No baby," and could barely keep her eyelids open. “You shouldn’t be driving,” we said. She pulled into traffic and almost caused a three car accident.  

Friday- 47      MN², KY³, IN, MO, IL      3 saves      5 pro-lifers            Mothers poured into this slaughter house before the new year to scrape their children from their wombs. It was truly “Black Friday” as most mothers were black American. A mother and daughter from Kentucky walked in the alley clutching her teddy-bear and cursing us as we pleaded for her baby’s life.

Today, 47 babies were murdered on my watch, three precious babies were spared. I spent most of the morning running from end to end offering free help, prayer, anything to try and persuade them not to kill. Only four others stood in the gap today.

A lot of black males with white girls, "trophies" today, these iresponsible males laughed, mocked and cussed me out and told me what they would like to do with me. One white woman tried to hit me with her car, she left the mill to get some food as her friend was killing inside. "You're really enjoying this?” I asked her. She replied, "Shut the ---up mind your own business. Dr. Shah is an excellent doctor."... I said, "He's no doctor, he's a butcher.” “Do your research,” she yelled. “I have,” I said… She screamed, “Get a job, and have some babies."… I had to bite my tongue being the mother of 11....She then yelled, "God wouldn't want you standing out here."… Oh really?  Well, that's whose voice woke me up in the middle of the night over 12 years ago and gave me my marching orders. Proverbs 24:11-12  She told me to go to hell. I told her there's not enough clorox bleach to wash the innocent blood from her hands. She flipped me off then, and took her hot food inside to eat while her friend dismembered her baby…

            A seventeen year old brought a girl in her second trimester to kill; this was day 2 of the procedure. He called me a ---ch and ran up to me to beat my --s. Nolan stopped him and he said he was catholic and the girl was a Christian, but something was wrong cause the girl took b.c. pills for a few months before realizing she was pregnant, which was an excuse, there was nothing wrong with that baby. He was being convicted.

        Three cars from Kentucky , two from Minnesota , most had been there for two days which meant these babies were late-term.

 

If you’re like me, its harder to get down there in the bitter cold, you don't look forward to it. I can't stand the deathscorts, or the death-merchants. Some people can converse with them. For now, I'd rather speak with the mothers and their companions. The devil is constantly looking for cracks to get inside those that are being effective. When you stand and plead for the lives of the innocent those scheduled to die, you are messing with the devil's bloodline. That's why he'll stop at nothing to try and destroy you and he'll use discouragement and hopelessness, his best tools to do it. Our flesh will not stand against him, but the Word of God will never come back void. He can't argue with that.

Whenever you feel low, get in the Bible. The answer is all there. Many, more valiant have gone before us, we're only doing what they did.

        One day, people will read about those that stood for the innocent, and were the history-makers of our day, making a difference.

 

Saturday- 25      MO, IL      2 saves including Denise from MO, and a couple from Staunton , IL .       12 pro-lifers, a lot were sidewalk veterans, it was good to see them and know they have not forgotten the babies and our cause. It was good to put the old year away and ring in the new. To look forward to the Lord returning and an end to children being killed in the womb or out of the womb. The only difference is the location. It’s still a human being and it deserves the full protection of our Constitution. A woman approached Angela and hugged her and began crying as she thanked her for being an “angel” to the unborn and her faithfulness. She handed her a donation to help with gas. PTL!

 

179 babies killed. 8 babies saved. 1585 saves since January 2000 and 21 babies have been adopted through Small Victories!  Year end stats:  8,423 killed, 406 saved, 4 adoptions, 13 salvations that we know of.

 

 Charles G. Finney was a theologian, author, lawyer and preacher- When he opened his mouth he was aiming a gun. When he spoke bombardment began. It was either revival or riot... Over eighty percent of his converts stayed true to Christ without ever backsliding. This was due to stressing holiness and purity.         The problem in America is the Christian Church. It has become so lukewarm and ineffective. Church members can go get an abortion without a flinch. Their consciences are seared because they are taught soft, comfortable messages Sunday after Sunday. They have no conviction of sin. As they enter the death camp to kill their babies they tell us "God will forgive us."

   

America will soon bridge the new millennium encumbered with a tragedy of almost unthinkable proportions. Since 1973's Roe vs.Wade, more than 45 million unborn children have been trashed, a slaughter without historical precedent. Generations from now, people will ponder how humankind could kill so many, so often, for so little. One wonders, where are the Christians?

Every week, five or ten of them gather to pray in front of the Hope(less) Clinic in Granite City , IL . It is a profoundly spiritual experience.  It's also intriguing to muse about who won't ever make an appearance here.

Without exception, you'll find no media types praying on this sidewalk. Even though the vast majority of Christians abhor abortion, it's politically incorrect and could be noxious for the media type's image. No C.E.O.'s or executives either. Someone might recognize them championing their beliefs; that could be disconcerting.  Politicians? Not on their life – far too controversial for comfort. The same can be said for priests and ministers – not to save their souls, or anyone else's for that matter.

Sidewalk praying and counseling is one of the final front lines of America 's abortion wars, and it is unequivocally legal.  Here in Granite City , the faithful gather on a perimeter sidewalk bordering a hospital, just a couple hundred yards from the front doors of the killing grounds. And they pray.

Young women arrive with and without partners. They enter the doors of the abortuary.  The sidewalk warriors pray harder.

People of conviction influence women seeking abortions. The presence of pro-lifers makes all the difference, some young women say, furnishing not a few of them with the courage to say no – not now, not ever.  Sidewalk prayers and counseling works.  A child lives.  Hope Clinic is out $500-$2500.
